63rd Primetime Emmy Awards Governors Ball

63rd Primetime Emmy Awards Governors Ball

63rd Primetime Emmy Awards Governors Ball theme and menu officially launched Wednesday, August 17th at the pre-Emmy press conference held at The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre in North Hollywood.

Black White and touch of Gold (the guest of honor Emmy) set the mood for this year’s “Mod-Illusionist” theme which will feature 42 performers and Living Artists, 12,000 white Calla Lillies, over 3,500 place settings, 2 Grey Goose Ice Bars, and returning Chef Joachim Splichal and the Patina Restaurant Group team in its 16th year as the Primetime caterer for this favorite awards event.  Recognized as the largest annual formal dinner in the United States, the 3,600 guests will experience glitz and glamour as they are greeted on the Red Carpet by trays of chilled champagne.  Once the official dinner begins, a First Course of Windrose Farm Heirloom Tomatoes, Rosemary and Cherry Wood Grilled Asparagus, Fried Gold Potatoes will adorn the tastebuds of lucky guests.  And lucky these guests will be once they taste the entree of Filet Mignon (sous vide for ultra deliciousness), Gratin of Macaroni with Vermont White Cheddar (in the proper healthy bikini portion, of course), Rainbow Baby Carrots, Cipollini Onion, Caramelized Broccoli Emulsion in an Oxtail Bordelaise.  The ultra-surprise, however, is how Chef Joachim and his team transform our everyday loved Duncan Hines cake mix into gourmet, lusciousness of Duncan Hines Milk Chocolate Brownie, Chocolate Blackberry Cream, Blackberry Macaron, Chocolate Rice Crisp (with gold dust, I might add), and Honey Sauce.  Just an entree dessert to the take home gift of Duncan Hines Cake Pops in a designer Recipe Box for each attendee.

Set your calendars to view the 63rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards LIVE Sunday, September 18th, 8p ET, 5pm PT on FOX 11!

The prestigious Governors Ball will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center immediately following the Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony and is an exclusive, Hollywood by-invitation-only event.  Enjoy this glimpse of pre-Emmy glamour and sneak preview of what the guests will be enjoying that night as prepared by famed Chef Joachim Splichal’s Patina!
