Desserts can be energizing, healthful and delicious with the right ingredients. In this easy no-bake recipe, walnuts are ground with almond flour, dates, cocoa powder, blackstrap molasses, coconut oil, lemon juice, vanilla bean, peppermint oil, a hint of salt and pepper and the end result is rolled in crushed peppermint candies.
Some of the healing ingredients in this recipe:
Walnuts – good for the brain, promote good sleep, improve blood circulation
Dates – help relieve constipation, promote heart health and help relieve anemia
Peppermint and peppermint oil – aids digestion and good for fighting asthma and allergies
Cocoa – protects against heart disease and helps alleviate depression; avoid if suffering from migraines or have digestive problems
Not only are these tasty bites of balls the perfect chocolatey end to a meal during the holiday season, they are delicious as an energizing snack during a hectic work week mid-morning, late afternoon, and are also terrific post-workout recovery snacks.
Easy to make – just puree the ingredients together, form into balls and refrigerate for about 15 minutes. Then, roll in crushed peppermint candies. Store in an airtight container lined with parchment paper for up to 2 weeks.
