Ballroom Burn ! Bikini Workout You Will LOVE
Let’s call it Ballroom BIKINI! YES!!!! Ballroom Burn, a new, fun, engaging workout with Gold Medal winning ballroom dancer, publicist to the stars and cancer victor, Steve Valentine.
Beginning Sunday, July 28, and yes, Homer (my pup) and I will be there doing some bikini Ballroom Burn dancing… beginning Sunday, July 28, classes begin in nowhere else but HOLLYWOOD! West Hollywood, to be exact, at the beautiful Kimpton La Peer Hotel property.
From Disco, to Gay Ballroom in Weho, gold medals and SURVIVING a literal near-death bout with that darn CANCER (during such one of his primary oncologist was a former Ballroom dancer and now they dance together for charity! #AMAZINGSTORY), one of my DEAREST friends, Steve, has come to a place where he is combining all that history into a fun, exercise class that is joyful and a cardio powerhouse workout.
Steve will be donating money from the classes (and otherwise!) to the American Cancer Society. Last year, Steve and his Doctor/Ballroom dancer helped raised $300K for cancer charities by dancing and telling his and their story of healing in showcases with her, the beautiful and elegant, Dr. Irene May-Ling Hutchins.
In the photo below, Steve is on the left below with his dance partner, Robert (aka Robie) Tristan. They were the Gold Medal champions at the Gay Games in Canada 2010. They held the World Title Gold Medal until 2014 (and in my opinion, it is because they didn’t enter the competition that year!)

Special Monthly Exercise Event at Kimpton La Peer Hotel, West Hollywood Kicks Off

“Ballroom Burn” dance/exercise class is a high-energy but LOW IMPACT class similar to Zumba. You’ll get a warm up, intense dance moves from salsa, cha cha, merengue, mambo, samba, disco and more. Work out on the rooftop of the La Peer Hotel to the best tunes of the 1970s and 80s like “I Will Survive,” “We Are Family,” and current hits by Sean Mendez, Beyoncé, and more. The class starts with a stretching warm up, jazz isolations, dance combinations, choreography, and a cool down. (NO DANCE PARTNER NEEDED)
Steve Valentine is an Award-winning competitive Ballroom Dancer having won a Gold Medal in Men’s Latin at the Gay Olympics in Cologne, Germany, as well as, performed in showcases with his oncologist, Dr. Irene Hutchins, raising $300,000 for cancer charities last year. A portion of the ticket price on Eventbrite will go to American Cancer Society.
Ticket price for class is $25.00 (brunch is not included). Parking, a short walk from the hotel, is available at the West Hollywood Library at 625 N. San Vicente or special event valet at the hotel for $10.00.
