In this recipe, chia seeds give our pups vital omega-3 fatty acids, rolled oats, all natural peanut butter, and eggs provide much needed protein and our pets get a breath refreshing antioxidant from fresh parsley.

Cinnamon Oat Doggie Bones
Snacks
Wholesome dog treats that dogs will love and people, too! Wheat flour, oats, parsley, and cinnamon are key flavors for these treats.

Ingredients

2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup rolled oats
3 tablespoons fresh chopped Italian parsley
½ cup dry milk
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
Fine zest of 1 lemon
1 tablespoon chia seeds
½ teaspoon sea salt
2 large eggs
1 cup natural peanut butter, creamy preferred
½ cup water plus 2 tablespoons
Dog bone cookie cutters or other doggie cookie cutters

Instructions

Preheat oven to 300*.
Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a medium mixing bowl, combine flour, oats, parsley, dry milk, cinnamon, lemon, chia seeds and salt.
Separately, stir together eggs, peanut butter and water in a small mixing bowl.
Then, add to dry ingredients, working it into a dough using a fork and then your hands.
Once combined, use a rolling pin to roll dough out ½ inch thick onto a flat surface covered with parchment or wax paper.
Cut out dog bones with cookie cutter and place on baking sheet.
Bake in center rack of oven for 40 minutes.
Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for 2 to 3 weeks.
