After a 16-Year Hiatus, the Taste of Orange County returns next weekend, June 16 and 17, to the Verizon Ampitheatre in Irvine. This premier food, wine, and entertainment festival is set to feature 50+ restaurants, wineries, and is expected to draw crowds of more than 20,000 food and wine lovers.
Chef demonstrations, restaurant tastings, art, wine and tequila tastings and top entertainment make it worth-your-while to put this event on your plans for Father’s Day weekend, but one event in particular caught my attention… the Great OC Farm to Table Dinner on Saturday, June 16 from 6pm to 8pm.
Great OC Farm to Table is more than just a dinner collaboration of Orange County’s top chefs. Set on the Verizon Ampitheatre stage, Great OC Farm to Table Dinner is a bold step forward to demonstrate to diners that supporting your local farmers and fishermen is the healthy and flavorful way to dine.
Helmed by organic chef and Culinary Liberation Front founder, Paddy Glennon, Great OC Farm to Table features 9 chefs serving 7 family-style courses to 175 people on the Verizon Ampitheatre stage. The entire 7-course meal is comprised only of ingredients produced within 200 miles of Orange County. These local, sustainable ingredients go beyond local produce and seafood including local wines, vinegars, sea salt… every ingredient used in these dishes can be found within 200 miles of Orange County.
